Softening the edges of the home are veils of soft linen that delicately diffuse incoming light to provide both privacy and illumination. While these drapes serve to control the amount of light that enters the interior, the lightness of the base palette binds the spaces and bridges the historical context of the home with contemporary features. “It [the home] feels calm but colourful,” says the owners. “We came home [after being overseas] to find each room so beautifully put together – and a few little surprises that our girls loved.” Spanning multiple levels, a natural division emerged between retreat rooms and communal gathering spots – a concept echoed in the strategic use of colour throughout these areas.

Each space fosters connections with its occupants, an important aspect within the family dynamic as it facilitates the strengthening of bonds between individuals and the home. “There are so many unique pieces here, and I love how it has all been put together,” says the owners. “It feels like a luxury hotel but a lot like home. It feels like us; we all love living here, and the process was a delight.” Reflecting the owners’ global wanderings, the curated pieces originate from various international destinations, embodying a shared fascination that has compelled the owners on their journeys over the years.
