Zenn Design launches the Elba Seating Collection, an elegant, Australian-made, customisable range of stools, bar stools and dining chairs that bring sophistication to any space.
Known for its high-quality, made-to-order upholstered furniture, Zenn Design has launched Elba, a new seating collection designed in collaboration with Space-man Studio. Characterised by a minimal form and tactile detailing, this new range is both elegant and versatile, epitomising quiet luxury.
Evolving naturally from the much-loved Archie stool collection, Elba introduces three distinct pieces: a stool, bar stool and, in a first for Zenn Design, a dining chair. Each is defined by a sculptural, double-frame detail and features a fully upholstered inset seat that speaks to the Melbourne brand’s attention to comfort and craft.
Hannah Goldberg, Zenn’s founder and creative director, says the collaboration with Lachlan Mackay, design director of Space-man Studio, was a natural fit. “Lachlan really helped us merge all our design ideas into one beautiful form,” she says. “We wanted to explore structure in a new way – to create something elegant but different, something that hadn’t been done before.”
Reflecting on the design process, Mackay says he began by sketching ideas for Goldberg. “This evolved into random renders until we finally arrived at a form that felt like it had a unique and on-brand point of view,” he recalls. “Prototyping took a lot longer than anticipated, as we worked through getting all six variations to align and feel cohesive.”
Designed with versatility in mind, those six configurations are: Elba dine, Elba stool and Elba bar, each offered with or without a back. The ability to customise is key to the offering, with fully tailored frame finishes and fabric selections. For ease of specification, a curated selection of fabric and frame pairings is also available. These combinations reflect the collection’s aesthetic and have been conceived by Goldberg and art director and stylist Cristina Guerrero Fernández.

Goldberg reflects, “The Elba is so special to me – it’s our first full seating collection to include a dining chair, something we’d been asked about for a long time and spent more than 18 months refining to get just right.”
