Lowe Living’s Emerald Place is a luxurious contemporary collection of medium-density residences that beautifully reflects the locale’s past and present.

For the exclusive collection of 36 residences that is Emerald Place, architecture by Woods Bagot and landscaping by Acre draw from the rich architectural history of the area, delivering a unique and considered design within South Melbourne’s market precinct. “Emerald Place represents a prominent corner statement and a contemporary interpretation of Victorian charm that sits sympathetically within its South Melbourne context,” says Ana Sá, associate principal at Woods Bagot.

“Arriving home to Emerald Place is an opportunity to escape the urban atmosphere of South Melbourne and step inside a verdant, tranquil and luxurious haven.”

Lowe Living’s managing director, Tim Lowe, says the group is very excited to bring the project to market. “No detail has been spared in Emerald Place, and it truly embodies our commitment to excellence and innovation,” he says. “We worked closely with architect Woods Bagot to ensure the floorplans offered a variety of considered layouts to suit the unique needs of our clients, with expansive and thoughtfully landscaped private outdoor spaces by Acre.”

Lowe Living had a very single-minded vision for the project. “We were astutely focused on the luxury owner-occupier, so we wanted to ensure the design responded to both the expectations of this buyer as well as offering the desired lifestyle, with local amenities on the doorstep,” Tim says. “Arriving home to Emerald Place is an opportunity to escape the urban atmosphere of South Melbourne and step inside a verdant, tranquil and luxurious haven.”

Emerald Place is highly versatile, designed to meet diverse lifestyle needs. Two- and three-bedroom apartments are now selling, with a select number of residences featuring the Signature Collection, representing the intersection of opulence and functionality. These residences have dual-aspect views and such elevated offerings as Liebherr fridge-freezers, Zip taps and Vintec wine fridges. Crowning Emerald Place is a limited collection of Skyhomes, luxury three- and four-bedroom sub-penthouses and penthouses that include private garages, and with bay or city views and triple-aspect outlooks.

The design vision for Emerald Place embraces the rich architectural history of the surrounding late 19th- and early 20th-century buildings. Woods Bagot incorporates detailed polychromatic brickwork and a strong vertical grid – drawing inspiration from the corner pubs of South Melbourne – in a way that harmoniously blends with the context. The considered architecture is complemented by a lush, verdant botanic setting in vertical landscapes by Acre that seamlessly welcomes nature into the residences.

For the interiors, Woods Bagot has used honest and durable materials that evoke nostalgia and elegance – brick, metalwork, concrete, soft rendered walls, natural stone slabs, bronze finishes and porcelain tiles. Emerald Place juxtaposes traditional features against modern elements, with high-quality finishes, engineered timber flooring, wool carpets and premium fixtures including Astra Walker tapware and Gaggenau and Liebherr appliances.

Intertwining opulence with refreshing functionality, Lowe Living presents an unrivalled level of luxury with this project. Emerald Place delivers a significant addition to South Melbourne’s vibrant urban landscape while offering a calm oasis as a counterpoint to city living.
