Gaggenau’s latest innovation thoughtfully reimagines the professional-grade, home fridge-freezer with groundbreaking technology and a seamless elevation of integrated kitchen aesthetics.

Gaggenau has introduced what it’s describing as a New Generation of Cooling, a state-of-the-art home fridge-freezer that houses a professional freshness system possessing the best cooling capabilities ever developed by the esteemed appliance company. Additionally, the integrated fridge-freezer provides a luxurious, furniture-like appearance in any culinary setting. “Our New Generation of Cooling will push the boundaries of refrigeration as we know it today,” says Gaggenau’s senior brand manager, Olya Yemchenko.

The bold, black-toned stainless-steel option brings a striking level of drama to any kitchen.

Like all of Gaggenau’s products, materiality is a paramount consideration. The new appliance’s front panels offer complete customisation, allowing users to choose from a wide material palette including marble, wood and stainless steel, with handled and handle-less options, allowing seamless integration into cabinetry. The bold, black-toned stainless-steel option brings a striking level of drama to any kitchen.

Internally, there are five precisely calibrated climate zones, a dedicated program tailoring precise humidity and temperature adjustments, a full-width chilled drawer and up to two climate drawers. The freezer’s advanced ice-maker is complemented by freezing technology that protects against oxidation and freezer burn. In the internal cabinets, flat inner doors and door bins open to aluminium-framed glass shelves and drawers framed by a dark brushed stainless steel.

“It’s about achieving a flawless balance between aesthetics and functionality, creating an elevated experience for users.”

Sven Baacke, Gaggenau’s head of design, says the 340-year-old German heritage brand’s latest statement piece is a harmonious balance between striking beauty and unparalleled performance. “It’s about achieving a flawless balance between aesthetics and functionality, creating an elevated experience for users,” he says. “Our latest cooling series exemplifies this ethos, but we’re taking it further. I’m particularly drawn to the notion that our appliances are not just machines; they enhance functionality while adding to the overall aesthetic appeal, bringing joy and satisfaction to everyday tasks.”

The fridge-freezer also features the HomeConnect system, allowing users to control the appliance from their mobile phone, whether setting the temperature, activating its functions or checking real-time views of shelf and compartment ingredients via discreetly integrated internal cameras. Advanced kinematics provide effortless push-to-open and self-closing doors, with self-adjusting, warm-toned internal illumination.

“It’s like a playground for architects, offering endless possibilities for creativity.”

The new cooling system’s design was partly influenced by Gaggenau’s strong collaborative relationships with kitchen designers, architects and retailers, with feedback relating how traditional appliances often disrupt an architect’s vision. Gaggenau’s new fridges and integrated walls blend into the environment, allowing architects and planners to focus on a kitchen’s aesthetics.

“It’s like a playground for architects, offering endless possibilities for creativity,” says Lucas Schulte Campos, a user experience designer at Gaggenau. “Our design not only considers the appliance itself but also how it enhances the experience of using and interacting with it, ensuring every aspect – from the interior organisation to the soft closing mechanism –contributes to a seamless and delightful user experience.”
