Two bold new products from GB Masonry expand the possibilities of outdoor architecture with eye-catching profiles and clever approaches to enhancing alfresco living.
The possibilities of outdoor architecture are opening up more than ever with the launch of two distinctive new products by GB Masonry. Linework informs the designs of both the GB Vertico range and the OpenForm Pavers, which draw the eye with their unusual profiles that also double as functional elements. “Giving a new facade to the typically flush materials of brick and concrete shifts the way they function in the home,” says Brett Ward, general manager of international marketing at Brickworks Building Products. “This allows for vibrant greenery to grow across a concrete path and gives a horizontal brick pattern vertical flair, completely transforming otherwise rudimentary outdoor and indoor spaces.”

A striking alternative to typically flush bricks and concrete, the GB Vertico range is subtly ribbed, driving visual interest and tactility in both internal and external walls. With its perpendicular facade, the GB Vertico offers visual elan and is available in deeply considered colourways: the blue-grey-toned Porcelain and Nickel, the earthy colours of Pebble and Limestone, and the strikingly contemporary black of Pewter. While the new design – a contemporary take on the classic concrete block – lends itself to external facades and internal walls, it is also perfectly suited for a striking feature wall or a staunch fence.
Designed to complement their natural surrounds, the OpenForm Pavers, meanwhile, are as functional as they are good looking. Each paver is made with 35 per cent less concrete than typical concrete pavers, making them a more sustainable alternative to traditional products. This holistically eco-friendly approach is further buttressed by the pavers’ drainage function: the grid-like design encourages water run-off, while the openings between the concrete stimulate the growth of greenery. These singular pavers are also supremely versatile – they’re as suitable for large-scale outdoor areas as they are for smaller courtyards, and can be laid creatively to establish a bespoke look in both new builds and existing spaces. This tailored approach is also fortified with a choice of three finishes: Porcelain Honed, Grey Smooth and Charcoal Honed.
The new GB Vertico range and OpenForm Pavers are the latest products to be launched by GB Masonry, one of 17 brands that sits beneath the Brickworks banner. The two lines join the more than 2,000 products already on offer from Brickworks, further establishing this legacy brand as one of the globe’s foremost building material manufacturers.
