Designed to feel right at home within both residences and workplaces, The Paws Room collection demonstrates how functional furniture for dogs can cohere with elevated interior designs. Including the Teddy crate, Coco couch and Jack crate cover, the range creates a welcoming environment for all occupants of a space.

Originally inspired by The Rosalie Plinth House by Arcke – designed for a family and their two dogs – The Paws Room collection contributes to a gentle and considered interior environment. Featuring birch plywood joinery and ceilings, the design of the Brisbane home required an aesthetic alternative to the black, cage-like crates typically provided for resident dogs. In response, The Paws Room provided a crate that complemented the timber-lined residence, proposing a sense of safe enclosure and stylistic unity.

Local artisans employ ethical processes in order to create the furniture collection, which sees architectural influences combine with multiple functions.

Whilst traditional crates only serve one purpose – to house the dogs – The Paws Room collection acknowledges the daily needs of canines alongside the immediate surrounds. Unlike its outdated counterpart, a crate from The Paws Room is manufactured locally. The Teddy crate, Coco couch and Jack crate cover are the leaders of the pack. Inherently efficient, the designs consist of birch plywood that has been precisely cut using a CNC machine, then presented as a simple-to-assemble flat-pack outcome. With the material kept in its raw state, the products are produced sustainably with minimised waste. A clear melamine coating is applied to ensure low maintenance requirements and product longevity.

Teddy and Coco utilise columns, or ‘fins’, presenting refined detail alongside structural support. In virtue of its robust composition, Teddy can be used as a side table, bench seat or storage system in addition to a crate. Relating strongly to both Teddy and Coco, Jack showcases an open and minimalistic form, speaking to the universal appeal of simple design. A premium cover complete with a hand-sanded finish, Jack is made to fit over both a standard crate and canvas cover whilst allowing for a front and side opening.

As strong, aspirational pieces designed to enhance the shared space, the collection is an expression of the architectural principles that inspired its inception. Elevating interiors whilst providing secure and comfortable lodgings for their canine inhabitants, The Paws Room ensures that considered design extends to all.
