Laminex’s True to Nature Next Generation Woodgrains
Laminex mobilises innovative technologies to craft a range of Woodgrain decors that bring a new level of authenticity and detail to native Australian timber-inspired laminate surfaces.
Heritage brand Laminex has unveiled a new generation of decors that bring a higher level of authenticity to the touch and feel of laminate surfaces than ever before. The True to Nature: Next Generation Woodgrains collection reveals the brand’s deep respect for nature via a series of decors available in six realistic Australian native woodgrain designs. These exclusive products are the culmination of in-depth research and development, new technologies and extensive consultation with the local design industry.
The six native woodgrains showcase the full sweep of Australia’s natural environment, with the new decors boasting the textural, tones, quirks and colours of the original timbers. This singular realism has been achieved via two new technologies: a premium AbsoluteGrain finish that produces an authentic look and feel to the decors, and the cutting-edge, first-to-market TrueScale technology that ensures designs aren’t repeated and reflect the randomness of nature. Though the look and feel of the new laminates effectively mimics natural woodgrains, the decors continue to offer the durability and quality of Laminex’s other products. Together they expand the possibilities of laminate surfaces.
The new AbsoluteGrain is the product of years of research and development. It’s a premium matte woodgrain finish that serves both aesthetic and functional purposes: it achieves realistic textural variation and in-depth detailing, while also ensuring the product is highly scratch-, wear-, stain- and heat-resistant.
A variety of tones, timber patterns and details is available within the range, offering a broad scope of options to bring singular Antipodean nature into a variety of spaces. There’s the warm red tones of Spotted Gum, which offers the crown-cut grain typical of the native species after which it is named, and the vibrant rich colours of Light Jarrah. Understated Tasmanian Oak imbues warmth, while Victorian Ash impressively mimics its organic counterpart. Other options include Rotary Hoop Pine and Blackbutt. The range has been crafted to complement Laminex’s existing Laminate Colour Collection, which is constantly updated and refreshed to offer colours inspired by the Australian environment.
Like its organic counterparts, the new range is remarkably versatile. The innovation of the AbsoluteGrain finish enables both large-scale woodgrain applications as well as the smaller-scale detailing that is impactful in residential cabinetry and design. Authentic markings and irregularities make the new range particularly well suited for statement interiors.
In creating these distinctive nature-inspired laminates, Laminex places sustainability at the forefront of its practice: by producing realistic Australian native woodgrain laminates, Laminex is helping prevent the felling of Australian forests for timber.
The singular new range exemplifies the pioneering, ever-evolving approach the company has taken since its inception 90 years ago. By bringing the outdoors inside using laminate surface solutions, Laminex continues to remain at the forefront of design and sustainability both now and well into the future.
