This issue includes a retrospective on N House by Partners Hill. Constructed in 2002, N House exemplifies the principles behind the work of one of Australia’s most esteemed architects.
Les Mills Auckland by Knight Associates, draws on the surrounding industrial feel to create a series of robust spaces that lure in willing movers.
Already a well-known player in the fitness arena, Les Mills’s latest global hub for training packs its own punch. Designed to be immersive and transportive, a combination of metal, mirror and concrete outline a new signature and aesthetic direction for the brand. Playing on the kinetic energy generated between the movement of bodies and lighting, Knight Associates and Monk Mackenzie add reflective surfaces and separate layers within the three spaces, building on a sense of momentum and increasing adrenaline.
