The best of European design comes to Perth, with the opening of the only store in Australia dedicated to French furniture brand Ligne Roset.

Ligne Roset is one of the most respected furniture brands in Europe. Founded in Montagneu, France, in 1860, Ligne Roset is renowned for creating furniture of outstanding quality with innovation at its core, still made in France to this day. Now, Perth joins the likes of Paris, Milan, London, and New York with the opening of an exclusive Ligne Roset new store, one of 200 worldwide, dedicated to championing the best in design – both classic and contemporary. “Authentic, beautifully made and timeless are the best words to describe the Ligne Roset brand,” says Michael Fotis, owner of Ligne Roset Perth. “They represent the very best French design has to offer and a history dating back over a century.”

Among Ligne Roset’s most iconic designs that will be on display at the new showroom, located at 205 Stirling Highway, Perth, is the Togo sofa by French designer Michel Ducaroy. Instantly recognisable, the Togo is just as popular now as it was when it was first designed in 1973. The sofa is made by hand in the Ligne Roset factory in France, with three different densities of foam and generously quilted covers that create its inimitable inviting form.

The Togo is just one of many pieces by Ligne Roset that have become favourites of leading architects and designers the world over, featuring in projects from interiors by Perth’s very own Nickolas Gurtler to the recently completed New York apartment by Lenny Kravitz. The Pumpkin by Pierre Paulin is similarly a classic of modernist design, while Ligne Roset is also highly regarded for its work with contemporary designers, both emerging and established – the Ploum sofa, designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, and Inga Sempé’sRuché sofa being two of many notable examples.

As a leading design brand of historical significance continuing a proud tradition of manufacturing in France, Ligne Roset has already gained a strong following among Australian architects and designers. Now, with the opening of the new Ligne Roset showroom in Perth, Ligne Roset is cementing its local presence and establishing a new destination for authentic, iconic design.
