Tasked with the reimagining of a cramped family kitchen, Minosa crafts an ambiance of alluring intrigue and sophisticated functionality. Collaborating with renowned furniture fittings and storage solutions company Blum, Minosa seamlessly integrates and transforms the space into the clients’ dream kitchen.

In a modest suburban home in southern Sydney, the kitchen project emphasised a need for functionality and drama. Minosa was presented with a brief that detailed a design-savvy couple who required a stylish space to cook and entertain within whilst accommodating their expanding family. Ultimately, minimising inefficiencies would prove paramount to overcoming the claustrophobic character of the original kitchen.

After changing the kitchen layout from a G-shape format to an L-shape, broadening the entry, Minosa factored Blum’s ‘DYNAMIC SPACE’ theory into the plan for Lugarno Kitchen. The kitchen counter space is split into zones within its new configuration: consumables, non-consumables and cleaning zones occupy the base of the L-shape; the preparation zone takes the corner; and the rest of the counterspace is dedicated to cooking. Blum products feature widely in Lugarno Kitchen, with the space benefitting from LEGRABOX pure pull-outs and inner drawers, the LEGRABOX U-shaped sink drawer, Blum’s SPACE TOWER and the AMBIA-LINE inner-dividing system and knife holder. The LEGRABOX pure pull-outs and inner drawers sit on a runner system, along which the drawers glide effortlessly open and closed, with the help of the BLUMOTION soft-close. Each drawer is of slimline design – measuring only 12.8 millimetres at their sides – allowing them to smoothly blend into Minosa’s vision for a sleek and seamless kitchen. Selected in the colour ‘Terra Black Matt’, the solutions are complemented by CLIP top BLUMOTION hinges in onyx black, creating a moody evening aesthetic whilst providing much-needed storage.
