The new Sydney home of MA Financial Group is found at the top of Brookfield Place tower, 27 floors above the heart of the Sydney CBD, on the lands of the Gadigal people. The Stella Collective’s luxury design blends the functional and the indulgent, with abundant amenities, sweeping curves and luxurious finishes more than managing to pull one’s gaze from the spectacular view of the city skyline.

Arriving in the lobby, the tone is immediately set by striking vein-cut Litzio travertine and custom honed marble furniture. The raw geology of the travertine has a calming effect, suggesting one is retreating to a luxury boutique hotel or spa rather than a corporate office. The faintest pink of the travertine is amplified in the polished plaster columns that support and punctuate the space, the rich texturing in the artisan handwork complementing the soft pastel hues.

Deeper into the wing, a fully equipped kitchen, complete with chef and barista, is found, as well as an undercover terrace garden where staff can unwind over a glass of wine and the breathtaking view.

The furniture selection is a who’s-who of design, featuring pieces from the likes of Mr and Mrs White and Jardan that ensure a balance of ergonomics and aesthetics. You won’t find any clichéd workstations or high-backed wheeling chairs here; The Stella Collective’s furniture selection intentionally creates a residential atmosphere as soft lounges and fabric chairs invite a more personal and welcoming approach. This is enhanced by a generous selection of objects by Melbourne maker Anna Varendorf – with no surface left undecorated, the residential effect is complete.

A range of both functional spaces and world-class amenities are provided throughout. To one side of the lobby are the formal office spaces, to the other, a more open, flexible space, where staff are well looked after. This informal wing offers a variety of differently sized meeting rooms – flowy oatmeal linen curtains and walnut wall panelling foster softened spaces to allow easy conversations and thoughtful collaboration. The highlight is the custom Tiberio marble long bench, its blush tones and rich burgundy veining creating a striking effect, while the endless rectilinear form creates a commanding presence in the already breathtaking two-storey volume of the lounging space. Deeper into the wing, a fully equipped kitchen, complete with chef and barista, is found, as well as an undercover terrace garden where staff can unwind over a glass of wine and the breathtaking view.

The office tastefully balances the demands of a high-functioning workplace with the need for a relaxed, personal atmosphere.
