Engineered Beauty – Maddox System by Savage Design
Established in 1910 as a small black-smith’s shop, Savage Design has since grown into a four-generation-strong company, one of the foremost metal fabricators in Australia. The recently launched Maddox collection parlays the company’s legacy of honest design, skilled craftsmanship and sound knowledge of material into components that can be variously combined for display and storage needs across commercial, retail and residential spaces.
Savage Design’s products – comprising high-quality furniture, lighting, door hard-ware and homewares for commercial, retail and residential addresses – are designed and made in Sydney and produced in-house from premium materials that pay equal ode to form and function. The designs are ethically made and engineered to last. The newly unveiled Maddox modular system is composed of six metal components that can be used to create smart design permutations for shelving, display units, bookcases, wardrobe systems, hanging racks, towel rails, foot rails, coat hooks and more, in both home and commercial environments.
Whilst most components are standard and do not change in size, the rail can be shortened or lengthened to create a bespoke arrangement. Maddox’s modular nature means that it can be easily tailored to serve each space and purpose. The system is available in marine-grade stainless steel, aged bronze and natural and blackened brass finishes. Like all its Savage Design counterparts, Maddox is produced in-house in Sydney and made, in large part, using locally sourced raw materials, consumables and tooling. The company’s sustainability ethos is echoed through other efforts, such as upcycling and recycling of all material by-products and the use of solar panels to fulfil the factory’s energy needs.
Drawing on the expertise of a century in business, both Savage Design’s wider collection and the Maddox system offer premium solutions for each space – no matter how simple or complex, big or small the need.
