As a unique offering, Manly Residences sees three separate homes configured as part of the one address, each with their own identity and expression of materiality. Brendan Mark Studio and Design Delta Architects propose a series of contemporary and openly connected homes, idyllically located within walking distance from the beach.

In an uncommon occurrence, particularly within the Sydney apartment typology, a grouping of three stacked apartments was here conceived with each offering their own unique personality. With architecture by Design Delta Architects, Brendan Mark Studio designed the interior of each, ensuring a consistent palette runs from inside to out, connecting the building as a considered whole. While all sharing similar principles of spatial openness and connection, and with joinery by Navan Bespoke designed with from a similar concept, through differing materiality and slightly altered floor planning, each is defined as its own space to connect with an individual occupant. The result allows for the medium-density development to optimise its location, while catering to different potential future tenants.

Aligning with the coastal locale, each home is imagined as a relaxed and casual offering, with openings that allow for natural ventilation and solar gains throughout the day.

Located near the West Esplanade with its own private accessway, the homes open to nearby views as they ascend. Within the allotment, off-street parking is allowed for, with integrated terrace spaces that allow for each of the apartments to be opened and embrace the natural elements. The lower two levels house two-bedroom, two-bathroom homes while the penthouse integrates three bedrooms and a potential dedicated study area, with access to ocean views.

Key to living in Sydney is an embrace of an outdoor lifestyle, and through both the closeness in access to amenity and Manly Beach Cove itself, that feeling is ingrained into the homes with visual cues acting as reminders. Throughout, a natural approach sees a softening of incoming natural light with linen drapery and handmade textural ceramic tiles with their own unique finishing. Differing dependent on the apartment level, brass and bronze tapware are selected to suit the overall respective colour schemes and elevate the everyday rituals within the home.

Through an exploration of colour and mood, Manly Residence carves three individualised homes, each as their own offering. Brendan Mark Studio and Design Delta Architects layer textures and tactile elements throughout, crafting homes of considered quality and detailing that also connect to a sense of place.
