Metung Hot Springs, situated on a placid bank of Gippsland Lakes in Victoria’s East Gippsland region, pays homage to the raw splendour of nature and to the healing qualities of water. Using organic forms and weathered natural materials, Splinter Society presents an oasis for luxurious yet grounded relaxation.

A stroll through the property reveals the intentional design choices that make the built environment feel like an extension of the natural. Unpolished stones and weathered wood abound. The hot springs’ primary bathing attraction is a tree-studded hilltop escarpment with a series of geothermal baths, in the form of wooden barrels and stone-rimmed pools, overlooking the immense lake below. Guests may stay in one of 10 glamping villas at the edge of the lake, furnished modestly with wooden, leather, and stone pieces.

Integrated deeply with its natural environment, Metung Hot Springs radiates an unassuming assuredness in its ability to provide its guests with the healing and relaxation that they’ve come to find.
