The dining, coffee and side tables reflect the ethos of Muundo, which believes that the beauty of nature is reflected in each piece through its soft, organic form. Additionally, the five collections that comprise Muundo are imbued with a distinctive blend of technicality, originality, personality and aesthetics.
When conceptualising the collection, the company was inspired by organic forms found in the natural world. “A fascinating example are the different shapes wild mushrooms can take and how they are soft and elegant in their appearance,” says a spokesperson.
The five ranges are: Haaki, which features an elliptical-shaped top and graceful lines that enable a playful interaction between light and shadow; Maana, whose round form reflects the shape of mushrooms embodied in a sleek, sophisticated design; the imperfectly round Usoo, which mirrors the irregularities found in nature; Zuri, whose smooth contours take their inspiration from pebbles; and the asymmetrical, unconventional form of Laini. Pieces are available in eight colourways, including neutrals like salt, stone and desert and bolder tones such as olive, curcuma (a pale mustard) and terracotta.
The standout feature of the range is the mineral composite, known as Mortex, from which it is crafted. The material – which comprises 95 per cent natural ingredients all sourced in Europe – is not only sustainable, durable and heat-resistant, but impermeable too, making Muundo waterproof and, therefore, ideal for both interior and exterior applications.
