Acknowledging that everyone deserves access to quality design, Oliveri has launched a Care collection for people living with disability. Comprised of bathroom and kitchen essentials, the range emphasises comfort, quality and style.
No matter the circumstance, people living with disability should have access to dynamic and refined design – wherever they are. Encompassing everything from grab rails and tapware handles to kitchen sinks and toilet suites, Oliveri’s Care collection has been designed with mobility and disability at front of mind to make daily tasks comfortable while maintaining the highest level of quality in form, function and aesthetic.
People living with disability can face numerous challenges, including limited mobility and sensory impairments. The Care collection takes these elements into account and specifically meets accessibility needs. Working closely with DDA Disability Access Consultants, Oliveri has designed each piece in the range with a focus on useability and quality. The collection can be installed to comply with the Australian Standards AS1428.1 and AS1428.2, seeing considerable attention given to accessible pathways, mobility and load weight.
Each Care product is suited to a residential or commercial context. This broad design brief meant that the range needed to be durable yet visually refined, able to be consistently engaged in a domestic, workplace or commercial space. While accessibility was the first priority, the considered designs are sophisticated and durable, suiting a range of interiors. For instance, the sleek designs of the Essente care handle and Venice care handle pin lever are available in a number of finishes, while also featuring an extended handle to ensure ease of use and accessibility. Similarly, the toilet suites – which feature easy-to-clean rimless designs – are available with a back-to-wall or concealed cistern and corresponding raised flush buttons.
Oliveri’s Care collection is an essential foundation for every new accessibility project, and will make a significant impact to the way we design homes and commercial spaces, empowering people living with disability in our community and ensuring a safe space for everyone.
