A Luminous Pledge – Respect by Viabizzuno

The ilrispetto pavilion from luxury Italian lighting company Viabizzuno is on view in Milan from April 17 – 23. The exhibition presents an innovative lighting display, imaginatively designed for the shifting light settings between day and night.

Translating to ‘respect’, ilrispetto is the latest conceptual presentation from Viabizzuno to seamlessly combine technology and artisanal design in the creation of timeless lighting. The exhibition draws on research and numerous patents to present lighting products that are both visually and technologically alluring.

Illrispetto translates to respect and is the latest conceptual presentation from Viabizzuno to seamlessly combine technology and artisanal design in the creation of unique, timeless lighting.

For Viabizzuno, the theme of respect represents a fundamental belief that the act of observing be accompanied by a responsibility for the past and a conscious gaze for future renewal. The exhibition seeks to pay homage to the ways in which respect has been a driving force for Viabizzuno in designing and building its luminaires, technical systems and the brand’s lucedigrandebellezza (light of great beauty) collection.

The suite of work reveals the ever-changing luminous transition between day and night, showcasing the powerful ways in which lighting design draws on craftsmanship and technical innovation to reflect a deeply embedded respect for the planet. Encompassing 1,500 square metres in central Milan, the pavilion houses a series of continuous lights uniting the infinite rules of natural light with Viabizzuno’s eight rules of artificial light. In the first room, visitors are immersed in the abstract concepts of solidity and functionality, found within the technical lighting products and systems of various collections, including the lampadina n35, lampadina n55, the traccia system and the new lancillotto furniture integrated lighting system. The room adjacent progresses to the lucedigrandebellezza collection, featuring musical melodies that echo the beauty, harmony and dynamism of natural light.

Spatially, the two rooms outline the symbol of infinity, a central value of the company, explains Mario Nanni, Founder and Creative Director of Viabizzuno. “We design and create objects that last, unfettered by fashion, standing the test of time, to be passed on and left – both metaphorically and materially – to future generations. The only real way to build and face the future respectfully is by repairing with a view to keeping and passing on, which is synonymous with respect.”
