Savage Design’s signature storage and display unit, Maddox, has expanded to include a seventh iteration. The new drinking glass rack offers patrons a functional and aesthetic way to store and display flutes and stemmed glasses.

The evolution of Savage Design since its establishment in 1910 as a small blacksmith is of special note. Now four generations strong, the family-owned company has earned a name for its honest design, seasoned craftsmanship and high-quality metal furniture, lighting, door hardware and homewares for commercial, retail and residential spaces.

Designed by Joel Savage and James Groom, the original Maddox unit was launched in 2022 with individual metal components engineered to assemble like a Meccano set.

Designed by Joel Savage and James Groom, the original Maddox unit was launched in 2022 with individual metal components engineered to assemble like a Meccano set. Resembling its six Maddox counterparts, the new drinking glass rack is crafted in marine-grade stainless steel or brass and also available in two finishes: aged bronze and blackened brass. Echoing the company’s ‘no-size-fits-all’ philosophy, Maddox can be tailored to suit a customer’s individual needs with the help of the Design with Maddox service, allowing for a spectrum of shelving and rack configurations.

Manufactured in-house in Sydney, the company’s commitment to sustainability is seen in initiatives such as upcycling and recycling of raw-material residue and the use of solar panels to fulfil the factory’s energy needs. Equally, the company’s ethos of engineered beauty ensures that each piece is built to last, serving its owners today and into the future in equal spirit.
