Inspired by blushed tones and Eevoking a coastal finesse, Tamarama Penthouse by SE DÉA captures the authenticity of the shoreline beachside locale and the sophistication of the resident’s former Woollahra home.

For SE DÉA the whole idea of a ‘residence’ assumes a particular importance, and Tamarama Penthouse is no exception. Inspired by the theatre of everyday rituals, the penthouse is an elevated sanctuary, . Originally a single residence, previous renovations extended the uppermost apartment in the building into the roof space to create a generously sized penthouse. Now a spacious 190sqm dual level residence, the interior has been completely reimagined by interior designer SE DÉA with custom joinery, fixtures and styling.

The design makes more of everyday experiences, becoming a stage set for entertaining friends, a morning of selfcare or conversation over weeknight dinner. Each space hosts captivating details that elevate the resident’s daily rituals whilst capturing views and reflecting the coastal environment.

Allowing the living and kitchen space to open, bi-fold doors frame the ocean backdrop for entertaining. , much the same as the bespoke joinery frames the view in. The palette is an evolution of the ocean views and coastal landscape. Pale blue and grey tones hues are a clear complement to curtains that cast a blushed tone across the residence as the filtered light shifts throughout the day. Stone with gold veining is the hero detail, reflecting and absorbing the natural light.. Resolute to every entertainer, the kitchen joinery hosts a concealed bar and the owner’s vast collection of glassware.

Contrary to the lower level, the upper hosts a provocative take on the blushed-inspired living room, with an unexpected masculine edge re-articulating the overall treatment.

Designed to attract casual conversations, it is; a perfect companion to an entrée or drinks shared with friends. . In the living room, Toogood’s ‘Puffy Lounge Chair’ adds a playful and relaxed detail to a carefully constructed, texturally rich interior.

Complementing the bathroom, SE DÉA reminisced on how the space can be empowering, Meanwhile, the bathroom is not only aa secluded oasis for selfcare but a space that captures and the glamour of preparing for special events. ‘We created a soft, light…and With l subtly feminine space for her to do this in, something calming and inspiring for her.’ Large- format Carrara marble tiles, pale pink stone mosaic flooring and creamy white walls, it is a delicate and calming space yet also one that imbuess a sense of strength and boldness while retaining the intimacy of befitting one of the smaller spaces in the apartment.

This interplay of femininity and boldness is felt throughout. The penthouse elegantly navigates the owner’s love of blush tones and avoids an overly directional colour play that would deter future buyers from viewing the apartments as anything other than compelling to their own blank canvas. Contrary to the lower level, the upper hosts a provocative take on the blushed-inspired living room, with an unexpected masculine edge re-articulating the overall treatment. Stone mosaic flooring with contrasting dark grey grout hones the experience to something more intense and tactile. Beyond the material contrast, aged iron tapware and graphite trimmings bring a sophistication reminiscent of the owner’s former home in Woollahra.
