Applications Now Open – The Design Coach Launches 2023 Scholarship

Nurturing both personal and professional development, The Design Coach (TDC) has launched the company’s 2023 Scholarship Program. Open to Australian design professionals of all ages, backgrounds and experience levels, the scholarship will provide opportunities for growth and learning within the design industry and beyond.

The Design Coach is an Australian-based collective of interior design professionals with common goals to share knowledge, nurture dreams and connect the design community, offering business coaching, events and retreats with a focus on empowering small business operators. In its second year, The Design Coach 2023 Scholarship endeavours to follow on from the success of the first program in 2022.

The scholarship will be awarded to someone who demonstrates the right aptitude, attitude and commitment in their chosen field, someone who is eager to commit to 12 months of growth and learning.

Determining the lucky recipient is a talented judging panel, including Andrew Mitchell of TDC, Amelia Barry – the 2022 TDC Scholar and Director of Amelia Barry Interiors – as well as Samantha Eades of Mitchell & Eades.

The scholarship will allow the winner 12 months of exclusive access to networking events, including TDC’s classes, online courses and 1-on-1 coaching, worth more than $20,000 in total value. The program is designed to provide all the tools, techniques, systems and processes to ensure future success in both work and life. This year, the winner will also enjoy an all-expenses-paid prized place at The Design Coach’s 2023 Queenstown Retreat, offering a transformational week of learning, as well as nurturing relationships with other likeminded designers.

Applications are open until 15 January 2023 and all designers are encouraged to apply – from interior designers to interior decorators, architects to interior architects, stylists to entrepreneurs. Similarly, applications are open for those who have been working in the industry for over 20 years, those with no architecture or design qualifications and those that are currently studying. Candidates are asked to submit a digital portfolio of past work with high-resolution images and a project overview, along with a short biography and completed application form. Those that are successful will deliver a portfolio of work illustrating creative design thinking through both visuals and written ideas.

To be eligible, applicants will need to be a member of the TDC community, have a registered design business and have a compelling reason why the opportunity would change their life. The scholarship winner will be announced 15 February 2023.
