Creativity at its Finest – The Sydney Affordable Art Fair
From 2nd to 5th June, the Affordable Art Fair is coming to Sydney. The Royal Randwick Racecourse will showcase artwork from both emerging and established artists – a celebration of art, design and architecture.
If you’ve ever entertained the idea of having artwork in your home but perhaps aren’t able to outlay the costs in doing so, you might want to pay attention to the Affordable Art Fair – a global mission determined to democratise the art world and make art accessible to all. Now in its 22nd year, the Affordable Art Fair is heading to Sydney’s renowned Royal Randwick Racecourse. “Our unwavering mission is to inspire people around the world with art and we are thrilled to be bringing the magic of Affordable Art Fair to Sydney,” explains Fair Director, Stephanie Kelly Gordine. “With many Australians spending a lot of time at home over the past two years, art has helped reinvigorate and reimagine living spaces with pops of colour, bounds of texture and bursts of creativity.”
Following on from the successful Melbourne launch in 2019, there will be a similar opportunity to connect with Australian and international galleries, as well as a selection of emerging and established artists. The list includes Sydney favourites such as Studio Gallery, Rochfort Gallery, Harvey Galleries, Wentworth Galleries and Fern Street Gallery, as well as The Toowoomba Gallery from Queensland and more. In line with demystifying the conventional art buying experience, all artwork prices will be visible to the public, with potential buyers able to browse and buy artwork on site for up to $10,000. Thousands of paintings, prints and sculptures will adorn the walls of the Sydney fair, ensuring there is something to suit every taste, space and spend.
Whilst Sydney art lovers can rejoice, there is also more to do than just enjoy the view. Patrons are invited to experience an award-winning food and beverage by Royal Randwick Racecourse, peruse the impressive installation of large-scale sculptures by ARTpark and partake in one of the Fair Director’s tours and the Children’s Art Studio, making this the ideal event for the whole family.
“This winter, the Fair will provide the perfect opportunity for Sydneysiders to discover thousands of new artists and consult with expert galleries conveniently under one roof,” Stephanie says. Whether you’re an experienced art collector, art novice or simply looking to revel in the creative nature of the Affordable Art Fair, there is something for everyone at this inclusive event.
