The highly recognised and respected New Zealand brand is expanding into the Australian market with the introduction of its high-end Italian brass hardware for the residential sector. Machined in Italy and hand-finished in New Zealand to achieve a bespoke finish, the collection sets itself apart due to its unwavering quality.
Established in 1984, Windsor Architectural Hardware is a New Zealand-owned and operated company. Founder Peter Hickmott started the business in his backyard shed in Christchurch. Having been trying to source a handle for his front door and unable to find the perfect fit, Peter, an engineer by trade, then decided to make the handle himself. Today the brand is renowned as a market leader in the architectural hardware sector.
The latest Italian hardware collection is no exception, and comprises six luxurious door handles to suit a classic, traditional or contemporary setting. Each piece is constructed from solid brass and available in 15 different finishes, allowing for a seamless coordination of hardware within the aesthetic of a home. Upon arriving in New Zealand in their raw state, they are then processed and hand finished by Windsor’s specialist craftspeople. A variety of metal treatments are then used to create the different finishes, which are then relieved-back by hand to produce the natural patinas. Colour coordination is achieved through batch processing, whilst the solid brass withstands pressure and is wear-resistant, ensuring a long life.
