Decor + Design 2024 will bring a stellar roll-call of the country’s best design brands to Melbourne in July. But there’s more: this year’s 20th anniversary event also features an innovative new Green Design Show.

Decor + Design 2024 is not only the landmark 20th anniversary of one of the country’s premier interior design events – it also sees a significant milestone: the introduction of a Green Design Show. The debut show-within-a-show will highlight the continuing shift towards more sustainable practices in Australian design and showcase the local brands leading the green charge.

“The theme sets the stage for exploring how the event has grown and adapted over the years, particularly in response to the increasing importance of sustainable design practices.”

“The Green Design Show is a concerted effort to drive meaningful change within the industry and actively promotes a paradigm shift towards more environmentally conscious practices,” says Decor + Design director Chris May. “It was also important to us that the inaugural show was governed by robust sustainable guidelines. Karie Soehardi of behaviour change consultancy Circular Design Thinking has been instrumental in overseeing these guidelines and ensuring that the exhibitors are genuine leaders in sustainability.”

The new show perfectly embodies the theme of Decor + Design 2024 – Evolution. “The theme sets the stage for exploring how the event has grown and adapted over the years, particularly in response to the increasing importance of sustainable design practices,” says Chris. “Decor + Design is not just a gathering of design professionals but a reflection of the industry’s evolution towards sustainability, encapsulated by the launch of the Green Design Show and our partnerships with key organisations driving change.”

“The combination of large-scale innovators and visionary newcomers not only honours our legacy but also reflects the ever-evolving nature of design.”

The 2024 event brings together a roll-call of the country’s most renowned design brands both established and emerging, from GlobeWest and Uniqwa Collections to Cultivated, Knotted by Hand and CERES Fair Wood, all of whom reflect the incredible diversity and vitality of the Australian design landscape. “This combination of large-scale innovators and visionary newcomers not only honours our legacy but also reflects the ever-evolving nature of design,” says Chris. “As we embrace the past while looking towards the future, Decor + Design serves as a key platform for creativity, inspiring collaboration and driving the industry forward.”

For the Seminar Series 2024, the roster of international and local speakers includes huge names like Melbourne design hero David Hicks (who’ll discuss ‘Building a Luxury Interior Design Brand’) and British superstar Abigail Ahern, who join Australian luminaries such as Koskela co-founder and CEO, Sasha Titchkosky (pictured above), and designer/retailer/stylist Kate Nixon.
