An Intimate Journey – Wineism Bar by Troupe Studio
A thoughtfully curated wine concept, Wineism offers a holistic destination and experience hosted by a friendly neighbourhood sommelier. Troupe Studio has designed a warm space that elegantly showcases a curation of local and international winemakers, encouraging visitors to connect with and immerse themselves in the wine journey offered by Wineism.
The former diesel machine shop, nestled within a converted industrial precinct in an inner-northern suburb of Brisbane, has been transformed into an innovative concept combining a wine shop and tasting lounge. Wineism is a pioneering company in the wine industry, curating a deliberate mediation between luxurious and purposeful design and the world of wine. This sentiment reveals itself in Troupe’s imagining of the space.
Founded on a desire to welcome both connoisseurs and the curious to taste exceptional wine and learn from experts – including head sommelier Ian Trinkle – Wineism blends elegant design, the intricacies of winemaking and the comfort of a home experience through seamless wine subscription services. Wineism also has a dedicated classroom and function space – the Albarium Room – hosting tutored tastings, seasonal releases, spotlight tastings and masterclasses.
The interiors are alluring – grounded in a sophisticated, dark and moody palette with black metal-trimmed fixtures. Charcoal-coloured walls are lined with refrigerated cabinets and open metal racks, and elegant high stools upholstered in black leather are positioned throughout. An expansive dark-tiled tasting bench provides a statement feature in the room, and floor-to-ceiling gauze drapes soften the space. The wine bar is equally captivating on a spatial level, conveying a feeling of intimacy and hospitality while still offering patrons multiple seating options.
