The Artedomus and The Local Project Emerging Designer Awards aim to promote designers at the early stages of their design journey. The winners will be those that demonstrate potential and original use of material and space, sustainability and innovative thinking.
The judges will seek to uncover a previously unpublished project by an early-stage designer to showcase through a thorough documentation process by The Local Project, including video and stills. The winners will receive a unique opportunity to discuss their work on camera with The Local Project team and exposure to The Local Project’s global audience of 2.6 million.
by Office MI-JI
Office MI–JI has been selected as the Residential Project Winner of the Artedomus and The Local Project Emerging Designer Awards. Located a few hundred metres from the Barwon Heads coastline on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula, this seemingly modest coastal home exceeds its brief in surprising and intrinsic ways. Mostly, though, every detail is backed by intent, resulting in a project that sits well within Office MI–JI’s rationale for honest and deliberate architecture and a holiday home worthy of permanent residents.
by Studio Plenty
Light Years Asian Bar and Diner by Studio Plenty has been selected as the Commercial Project Winner of the Artedomus and The Local Project Emerging Designer Awards for its original use of material and space, sustainable principles and innovative thinking. As a thoughtful revamp of the venue’s former self, this latest incarnation is a den of tone and tactility and the foundation for a very pleasing hospitality experience.
