Water Sensitive Urban Design: Planning for resilient cities
Partnering with Monash University, the Festival of Urbanism 5 invites Catherine Murphy, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at Monash University, will discuss how we can make sense of the natural and human-made water ‘systems’ of low-lying coastal cities. These cities facilitate the building of adaptive precincts but can they be a long-term urban resilience solution?
Catherine will discuss planning strategies for multi-purpose, hybrid infrastructures that address climate change dynamics and urban intensification in the previously wetland areas of Elwood and Arden Macaulay.
Date and time: Thursday 6 September 2018, 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm AEST
Location: Monash University Law Chambers, 555 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, VIC 3000, Australia
