At the base of the Balmoral rock escarpment, Almora House by Tonkin Zulaikha Greer Architects sits on top of an old site with a frangipane tree at one end and a contemporary Australian sculpture at the other.
The monolithic resident consists of vertically and horizontally interconnected spaces and an undulating concrete ceiling that makes it seem as though the roof is draped over the house.
