Clovelly House

This project was for alterations and additions to a family coastal home in Clovelly. It was quite run down when we began so we took off the rear of the house and designed it into concrete and steel portal frames to maximize the light into this south facing home. We wanted to create beachside elegance so we used materials reminiscent of the old house such as the terrazzo tiles and the high arches.

We used whites, light grays and blushes offset with dark timber and brass fixtures to maintain the elegant touch throughout. Bringing a maximum amount of light into the space was key so we utilised skylights and windows in different forms. We also adjusted the levels of the home in order to increase the spacial flow from the interior living area to the exterior backyard.
