Eastbourne Road
by Alexandra Kidd Design

The Eastbourne Road project by Alexandra Kidd Design is a residential gem located in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and offering the most incredible panoramic views of Sydney harbour, from Rose Bay to Rushcutters Bay, and the CBD to the heads.
This hidden residential home dates back to the 1970’s – a truly unique time in Sydney’s architectural history. Alexandra Kidd and her team revelled at the prospect of creating an interior that would do justice to the stunning views that the home was exposed to. The main design goal was to craft a space that accentuated the panoramic.
The brief was to transform this 4 bedroom penthouse-style home over three levels into the most fantastic Sydney home with luxurious and timeless interiors and well-considered design. The apartment has all the amenity and luxury of a free standing house. Alexandra Kidd Design were ultimately tasked with bringing the 1970’s style interior into the 21st century and putting a contemporary spin on the old fashioned façade.
The home now features a rooftop garden terrace with an full-size indoor kitchen and a ‘sky garden’ with day bed to relax and enjoy the view. Maximising the rooftop space was essential in a climate of limited residential space in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.
A predominantly white colour palate is accentuated with splashes of darkened timber which provide this home with a true sense of sophistication and contemporary class.
Large windows further highlight the breath taking views from every living space in the home. Whether eating dinner, cooking a meal or relaxing on the couch, the occupants will be served a constant reminder of the truly amazing city within which they reside.
Marble is featured in both the kitchen and bathroom spaces – a far cry from the dated 70’s style kitchen that the designers were first confronted with.
The rooftop terrace now allows the occupants to entertain guest or find silent solitude high above the skyline of one’s of the world’s most naturally beautiful cities. The Eastborune Road project by Alexandra Kidd Design is a triumph in understated interior design’s ability to maximise the natural attributes of a residential space.
