Capel Sound
by Altereco Design
Capel Sound is a modern design of coastal architecture which celebrates the idea of space and light.
Once the location of a fibreglass shack; which has now been removed, Altereco Design have designed a modern coastal architectural property which displays stunning natural light and influenced by an airy coastal home for a modern family.
And although situated on a main road, designers created a large stone wall, which provides a visual barrier between the main road and the house – allowing the residents within to interact with the outside in privacy.
Part of the interior design to the new home includes high ceilings and large windows, which bathe the main living room and the client’s own retreated bedroom with an abundance of natural light.
Designers also created a separate space upstairs, where kids can isolate themselves from the parents, and entertain themselves when needed, in a fully fitted room, suited for their needs.
The simplistic coastal vibe of interior design throughout, was achieved by using pale timber veneer, white cabinetry, and lime washed floorboards in Kilimanjaro Hand-Scraped Oak. The floors have the added bonus of disguising sandy footprints creating an elegant yet practical solution to each space throughout the home.
The main living space includes a generous open-plan kitchen that is centrally positioned to take in surrounding views, and a lounge perfect for entertaining.
Each coastal space throughout, has been created with the idea of enhancing the experience of the idyllic surrounds and optimise the setting without competing with the view. Instead, by blending in subtle finishes and timber elements, each space throughout compliments the natural setting of the outdoors.
In the kitchen, a butler’s pantry was added, which also doubles as a prep area, allowing for a striking central bench to become a social hub when entertaining.
Capel Sound is the perfect mix of a home away from home, where you can live your everyday routine, and feel like you’re on a coastal holiday at the same time.
