Overlooking the rugged mid-North coast of Kangaroo Island, this residence acts as both holiday home and guest accommodation. Designed as two independent residences wrapping around a sheltered courtyard, the design can function as two individual spaces or as a whole. Minimal and brutalist, the design incorporates large expanses of glass which frame panoramic coastal and valley. Hardwood batten timber screens add warmth and provide privacy to internal spaces. Chosen materials are hard-wearing and rustic, ensuring that the building can resist wild weather while sitting perfectly within the landscape.
