Located in the Byron Bay hinterland, Belcon Constructions husband and wife team rejected the archetypal ‘white’ aesthetic in Byron instead opting for a sleek, black, minimalist build to blend into the green hinterland surroundings. Housebeatricebyronbay façade clad in charred timber with a focus on low maintenance whilst the interiors present wide-open spaces and curves contrasting to the brutalist exterior. Seamless Indoor-outdoor living was priority in the design process with floor to ceiling fixed glass framing hinterland views and 15m of glass sliding doors opening the home for year-round use. No sacrifice of form whilst ensuring this was a functional home for a young family of 4.
