The Middle Harbor project is the second home we have designed for the client. The brief included a full refurbishment of the internal spaces retaining the architectural charm of its period as well as designing all interior spaces. The house was extremely dated – the starting point was eliminating the unnecessary clutter so one could see the beautiful European influences. Our first challenge – to design a kitchen to reflect the period details found in the ornate architraves and ceiling work.
The cabinetry was designed with traditional shaker profiled cabinets. We also installed a striking marble clad island bench ensuring the kitchen remains a timeless feature for years to come. The parquetry flooring was sanded back to its initial color and refinished. We also installed a formal white marble fireplace to complement the existing European influences. Contemporary furnishings were selected for the interiors to contrast with the sophisticated European influences and to give the living space “edge”.
