A weekend get-away, Muriwai House by Julian Guthrie Architects sits at the edge of the weathered cliff and mimics the surrounding windblown manuka trees. The compact house provides an array of spatial experiences and undulating volumes.
While the living spaces face the ocean, bedrooms hug into the hillside and captures panoramic views. Materials inside Muriwai house are raw with suspended timber floors and decks that hang from concrete walls.
