Phillip Island Project
by Modscape
Perched on the windswept hillside of Bass Strait is the infrastructure of a modular home that screams “epic coastal location”. Large in size and technically challenging its one that captures the eye and is almost overwhelming to the senses. Think large open spaces, picturesque views and boundless stretches of land. Project Phillip Island by Modscape is a place to call home for almost anyone.
Occupying one of the most divine coastal locations is a challenging project to conquer. Most important to the design was the organisation of both internal and external living spaces that nurture the barrier of protection between the coastal winds and courtyard out back.
The site is conceptually technical designed initially as two single volumes one clad in pacific teak timber, the other clad in zinc. The Coastal site offers a divine conceptual contrast of materials that are said to age with grace as the site is exposed to weather and natural forces in its wild coastal setting.
An abundance of glass is incorporated into the design in order to openly offer the natural beauty of the stunning stretches of land. Raw timber wraps around the grand entry and garage to form an enclosed courtyard housing a pool – a space which delivers the clients with yet another haven from the wind.
The main house, clad in zinc, stretches across the site and follows the contours of the land whilst simultaneously the four-bedroom home unfolds itself from a central kitchen/living/dining space.
Step back from the abundance of glass, lavish lengths of land and the view of the sandy beach to the west.Project Phillip Island open arms to family, food entertainment, and an eye-catching display of trendy living.
Look out to the untamed coastline all the functional requirements for an efficient holiday home are at hand. The 300sqm design is extravagant enough to cater for extended family members with its deluxe design and most functional properties.
