“Nocens ad Innocentium” Original Artwork

Designer Anthony Pieters

This original artwork is apart of the collection ‘Divine Suffering’. Anthony believes that suffering can serve as a process of transformation. It can renew and refine us. When materialism fails us, hardships bring us closer to our spirituality, which sustains us for our time on this earth. The works have been inspired by the metamorphosis of caterpillars to butterflies. The armour that the subject wears is a reference to a chrysalis of the caterpillar. Although it is used at protection, eventually the chrysalis will soften so a new being can emerge. Anthony hopes that each artwork from this collection provides diverse interpretations for the viewer.
