About The Designer

Born in Messina in 1960, Francesco Lucchese graduated in Architecture from the Politecnico di Milano in 1985 — the same year he won first prize at the Spazi Collettivi contest for his foldable chair, Traslazione.

Over time, his work as a designer became increasingly focused on two guiding passions: the communicative power of light and the expressive richness of colour. These remain the thread running through everything he creates.

Lucchese is currently a Lecturer at the Politecnico di Milano’s Design Faculty and speaks regularly at conferences and seminars internationally. He has collaborated with Venini since 1992, designing both lamps and objects.
