Venini is a Murano glassmaking house, founded in Venice in 1921 by Milanese lawyer Paolo Venini and Venetian antiques dealer Giacomo Cappellin. Every piece is still hand-blown by the furnace’s own maestri, using more than 125 glass colours developed in-house over the past century.
Design collaborations have shaped the company since its early years: Carlo Scarpa and Gio Ponti in the decades after founding, Ettore Sottsass later, and more recently Fabio Novembre and architect Peter Marino, among many others. Pieces from the furnace sit in the permanent collections of MoMA and the Met, and Venini has produced bespoke commissions for luxury houses including Bulgari, Tiffany, and Gucci.
The range spans hand-blown vases and bowls through to lighting and fully bespoke chandeliers — each piece shaped individually on the rod, so no two are ever identical.
