The Tolomeo series, designed by Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassino in 1986 for Artemide, is recognised by designers and architects around the world as a perfect marriage of engineering and design. Perhaps one of the most iconic lighting collections in the world, the Tolomeo remains as relevant to various settings today as it was over 30 years ago.
A study in balance and movement, the Tolomeo table lamp is designed for a fully adjustable direction of light working perfectly as both a functional task lamp and design object. The Table Lamp offers various options including an incorporated dimmer switch on the head, a motion sensor which uses passive infrared technology for energy conservation, and/or Tunable White LED technology allowing for varied intensities and colour temperatures. It is also available in vibrant pops of colour in the Bicolour version with blue, coral and white options added to accent the black base. Available in an option of Mega or Classic sizing, there are also options of parchment or fabric shades.

Michele De Lucchi was born in 1951 in Ferrara and graduated in architecture in Florence. During the period of radical and experimental architecture he was a prominent figure in movements like Cavart, Alchimia and Memphis. De Lucchi has designed lamps and furniture for the most known Italian and European companies, as Artemide, Olivetti, Alias, Unifor, Hermès, Alessi.
He designed and restored buildings for big national and multinational company worldwide, numerous art and design exhibitions, he planned buildings for museums as well as many architectural projects for private and public client. He recently realized a number of projects for the city of Milan: the pavilions for Expo 2015 (Padiglione Zero, Expo Center, Intesa Sanpaolo) and UniCredit Pavilion in piazza Gae Aulenti. His professional work has always gone side-by-side with a personal exploration of design, technology and crafts. In 2000 he was appointed Officer of Italian Republic by President Ciampi, for services to design and architecture. In 2001 he has been nominated Professor at the Design and Art Faculty at the University in Venice and in 2008 he was nominated Professor at the Design Faculty of Politecnico of Milan.
After graduating in architecture at the Milan Politecnico, Giancarlo Fassina has soon focused his work on light design. Light is his profession, in all its forms and expressions, therefore he has always taken care of every detail, up to the study of shadows, camera angles and exposures.During his career he has collaborated with many important lighting company and has created many installations for exhibitions and museums. He won, together with Michele De Lucchi, the Compasso d’Oro in 1989 for the design of Artemide’s Tolomeo.
Stylecraft has been providing furniture of original, contemporary design for 65 years. First established in Melbourne, Stylecraft is now represented in six showrooms around Australia, as well as one in Singapore. Their product offering is suitable for commercial, educational, hospitality and residential spaces and is a collection of Australian designed and manufactured furniture and international brands that they represent on an exclusive basis.
