As a second-generation cabinet maker, Martin Johnston values true craftsmanship, believing in the virtues of bespoke woodwork. Martin’s approach to his craft is as much about experimentation as it is honouring heritage and traditional techniques. In making furniture that serves the modern Australian lifestyle, Martin’s designs are clean and considered whilst evoking a nostalgia for the Australian designers of the 50’s and 60’s with whom he shares an affinity for qualities such as timelessness and durability. All furniture and joinery is designed and made by hand in our Billinudgel workshop on Bundjalung Country (Byron Bay Shire, NSW). Martin is a well respected designer and maker in our community, after spending 16 years in the cabinet making/furniture industry refining his skill and expertise. Martin Johnston offers a range of handcrafted furniture, as well as architectural joinery packages for the residential home or commercial space. Martin has collaborated with clients such as; Edition Office, DFJ Architects, St Agni, Allpress Coffee and Fleet Restaurant.
