Pampa

Pampa is a homewares brand based in Byron Bay, Australia. They work directly with skilled artisans in remote and rural Argentina to bring you the finest-quality woven textiles and goods. In many parts of Argentina, natural dyes, patterns inspired by nature and the traditions of manual weaving are slowly fading away. Pampa was founded with the desire to protect this woven heritage for the next generation. In the Quechua language, Pampa means ‘plain between the mountains’. All their collections have a deeply rooted sense of place and are named after the landscape where they were made. In 2013, Pampa launched their first project by partnering with artisan groups in Argentina, traveling back and forth to source one-of-a-kind rugs woven by artisans in their homes. From small beginnings, Pampa’s range has expanded to include woven throws, cushion covers and accessories handmade by artisans all over Argentina and in other parts of South America. As Pampa continues to grow, they hold on their core values, ensuring all of the featured homewares are ethically made and fairly traded through direct artisan partnerships. Pampa co-founders Victoria Aguirre and Carl Wilson are two photographers – one from Argentina, the other from Australia – who share two worlds, two visions and two cultures. Pampa’s series of Fine Art Prints captures the vivid landscapes and quiet moments our team encounters on their travels. In 2015, Manuel Aguirre, Victoria’s brother joined the business, becoming the Manager of Production in Argentina. At the same time, the growth of Pampa allowed us to open our flagship store and design studio in Byron Bay, Australia.
