Woodwrights’ New Auckland Flagship
Woodwrights has opened a new flagship showroom in Auckland, offering an elevated customer experience with a purpose-built space that showcases the brand’s craftsmanship and dedication to elevated design.
In collaboration with Auckland interior design studio Wonder, New Zealand furniture maker Woodwrights has opened a new flagship showroom in Auckland. Wonder has transformed the large, purpose-built space into a home for the company’s signature furniture pieces, while simultaneously heightening the customer experience.
Located just around the corner from the company’s previous outlet in the Grosvenor Design Precinct, the new showroom offers ample space to display the brand’s expanded collection, with a particular focus on upholstered furniture such as sofas and chairs. The design reflects Woodwrights’ commitment to purposeful craftsmanship, with every detail carefully considered to create a welcoming and immersive environment. Key pieces like the Kingsview corner sofa, Arc tub chair, Enya 3-seater corner sofa and Abode pedestal table are beautifully showcased against the soft hues of oak timber flooring and black steel accents, perfectly blending elegance and functionality.
A standout feature of the new space is the dedicated sampling area, designed to encourage collaboration between clients, designers and the Woodwrights team. Visitors are invited to explore a curated selection of materials, allowing them to engage deeply with the design process. This interactive approach highlights the company’s focus on personalisation, offering a space where customers can take their time to find the perfect fit for their homes.
The design – a collaboration between Woodwrights and Wonder – is warm and approachable, with lighting by Lightplan and Snelling Studio creating the perfect backdrop for the furniture on display. Complemented by rugs from Nodi Handmade Rugs, artwork by Devon Made Glass and steel fabrication by Otahuhu Engineering, every aspect of the space contributes to a cohesive design narrative.
A mezzanine serves as an extension of the main display area, offering additional space for furniture displays and providing workspaces for the growing team. This thoughtful layout ensures that the showroom is both visually appealing and highly functional, creating an ideal environment for both clients and staff.
Founded in 1997, Woodwrights remains a family-owned and -operated business, with each piece of furniture made to order in its New Zealand factory. The brand’s deep respect for craftsmanship and sustainability is evident in both its product offerings and the design of the showroom itself. By combining traditional techniques with modern technology, Woodwrights continues to create timeless furniture that is not only beautiful but also built to last. The new Auckland showroom reflects this ethos, offering a space where customers can fully experience the brand’s dedication to quality and design.
