Milan will experience a taste of New Zealand in April this year when Fisher & Paykel showcase a curated collection of built-in kitchen appliances at the 2018 EuroCucina FTK – Technology for the Kitchen.
Fisher & Paykel’s stand brings to life the essence of the contemporary kitchen and is sure to be a highlight at this year’s event. Visitors will have the opportunity to hear from the industrial designers behind Fisher & Paykel’s most innovative new products and experience the scintillating display where several exciting new designs will be revealed. Fisher & Paykel will also welcome visitors into the Social Kitchen, where they will be treated to a selection of fine New Zealand flavours.
The chance to interact with cutting-edge appliances and designers is always an exciting one, but Fisher & Paykel have gone even further, recreating the role of the kitchen as a hub of social interaction, creativity, nourishment and sophistication. ‘The Social Kitchen is how we think about the changing nature of the kitchen and the role it plays in our lives’, says Chief Executive Stuart Broadhurst. ‘We want visitors to our stand to relax and interact with our appliances as they would in their own home’. Visitors will experience a series of tastes that reflect the New Zealand landscape, its flora and fauna, including Kawakawa tea served from a stone induction unit, toasted Manuka honey marshmallows, a Noble Riesling sherbet and gold kiwifruit syrup served over shaved ice.
Senior industrial designers from the company’s Design Centre in Auckland will be on hand to guide visitors through the taste stations and share insights into the product process along the way. Mark Elmore, Fisher & Paykel General Manager Design says, “For us, design is a democratic process, we design for real life. Our culture allows people work collaboratively to find ideas that truly connect with our customers. We are curious not only with the function of our products but with the emotional role they play in people’s lives.”
As visitors journey beyond the Social Kitchen they will take in Fisher & Paykel‘s world-first technologies and experience previews of products that will only be launched globally in the coming months. Presented in a beautiful hero kitchen and product gallery zone complete with a ventilation cloud, this is an incredibly exciting opportunity to be among the first to experience cutting-edge new designs ahead of the rest of the world. New products on display will include the Integrated Column Refrigeration with Variable Temperature Zone, the latest in cooking with a new range of soon-to-be released 60cm companion cookware, and a brand new coffee maker, steam and microwave, with matching self-cleaning built-in oven.
The influence of New Zealand will be felt at every turn, both in the food and products, but also through sweeping backdrops of stunning landscapes. ‘It will be a chance for visitors to experience first-hand our obsession with product details and to hear from the designers of our product how our land and culture influences our approach to design simplicity, performance and quality’ says Mark Elmore.
For designers already heading to Milan this year, Fisher & Paykel has opened up registration for exclusive hosted events on their stand, including Meet the Maker Breakfasts and Social Kitchen Experiences. With EuroCucina only a month away and many eager to see the new designs in person (not to mention enjoy the tastes of the Social Kitchen), these events are sure to be extremely popular.
For those who cannot be in Milan to experience it first hand, The Local Project will be there in Milan covering all of Fisher & Paykel‘s events. We look forward to delving into the Social Kitchen, getting all the latest on the new products being unveiled, and bringing you exclusive coverage and insights into all the happenings at EuroCucina and Milan Design Week 2018.
