Harmonising innovation and timeless design, Bang & Olufsen’s new Australian flagship store has opened in Double Bay in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. Defined by a minimalist and sophisticated Scandinavian aesthetic, the store strives to deliver a beautiful and all-encompassing sensory experience to those who visit.

Luxury audio brand Bang & Olufsen has taken a creative and refined approach with its new store located at Knox Street in Double Bay’s Cosmopolitan Centre – the heart of the precinct. The location is one of Sydney’s most idyllic harbour neighbourhoods, a locale that naturally speaks to likeminded consumers, businesses and luxury brands that also reside there.

Luxury audio brand Bang & Olufsen has taken a creative and refined approach with its new store located at Knox Street in Double Bay’s Cosmopolitan Centre – the heart of the precinct.

Founded in Denmark in 1925, Bang & Olufsen is renowned for creating innovative audio and home entertainment solutions that challenge ideas of what sound and vision can be. As such, the expansive 220-square-metre store reflects a strong Danish aesthetic. Defined by minimalism and quality craftsmanship, timber dominates throughout – the cabinetry, accents and floors are all made of oak timber and furnishings are neutral and uncluttered.

As well as hosting interior designers and architects to discuss plans and create bespoke experiences for their clients, the space focuses on providing visitors with a distinct sensory experience. Those who visit the Double Bay store will be able to experience Bang & Olufsen’s latest products in an immersive setting, including the Beosound A5, Beosound A9 5th Gen and Beosound Theatre as part of the brand’s Connected Speaker offerings. Visitors can immerse themselves through interactive displays, allowing for a remarkable, stimulating experience as one indulges in studio-grade sound that adjusts to the room and listener’s position. A central focus also rests on highlighting Bang & Olufsen’s evolving mindset, showcasing the brand’s products that draw on a timeless aesthetic, last longer, sound better and will support new technology as time passes.

“We look forward to getting closer to our customers, offering solutions that are not only offering longevity in design and quality craftsmanship, but are sustainable in its technology for the generations that will live in their homes.”

The latest flagship store has been curated with the help and collaboration of Bang & Olufsen’s master distributor in the Asia-Pacific region, Design Collection Denmark. The company specialises in the distribution of Danish lifestyle brands and owns and manages the retail operations of various Bang & Olufsen flagship stores. Byron Griffin, Head of Australia & New Zealand for Design Collection Denmark, says, “we look forward to getting closer to our customers, offering solutions that are not only offering longevity in design and quality craftsmanship, but are sustainable in its technology for the generations that will live in their homes.”

The new flagship store in Double Bay aptly reflects a cultivated Scandinavian aesthetic and the innovative spirit that Bang & Olufsen is known for. A holistic design approach nurtures an immersive sensory experience, encapsulating the timeless sensitivity and dexterity of the brand.
