Proposing an unrivalled connection to nature, A SCAPE Eco Lodge outlines the path to relaxed living. Crafted by Vitale Design, the sustainable dwelling can be built as either a private residence or rental accommodation, delivered directly to the client’s chosen site.

Based in the Sydney suburb of Woolooware, Vitale Design understands the need to escape from the stresses of urban life. Envisioning a high-end tiny home perfectly suited to both rural or coastal settings, cousins and business partners Ben and Nick Vitale conceived A SCAPE Eco Lodge. Imagined to be small in size but generous in essence, the residence is designed to bear witness to picturesque natural surroundings whilst maintaining its own identity as a luxury home.

Built-to-order, the A-frame residence is manufactured in the Vitale Design warehouse and transported directly to site.

Though the house itself encourages a slow-paced lifestyle, the creation of A SCAPE Eco Lodge embodies the value of efficiency. Built-to-order, the A-frame residence is manufactured in the Vitale Design warehouse and transported directly to site. Upon assembly, the water and power supply are promptly fitted. Despite its enviable interior – architecturally designed and luxuriously equipped – the primary purpose of the lodge is to seamlessly connect users to the outdoors, enabling them access to the calming benefits of nature.

An environmental approach to design sees A SCAPE Eco Lodge sit lightly in its natural landscape. The architecture is crafted from repurposed shipping containers with a recycled aluminium A-frame. Colourbond roofing forms a thermal-efficient solution; resulting from technological innovation in response to the diverse Australian climate, the material is strong, secure and made for longevity. Double-glazed louvre windows combine with elevated ceilings to provide cross ventilation whilst solar power and tank water help to manifest an off-grid lifestyle.

In contrast to the pre-set exterior, the interior details can be determined by the client, laying the foundation for a highly personal outcome.

In answer to the compact space, Vitale Design imbues the interior of A SCAPE Eco Lodge with a sense of practicality. On the ground floor, a fully-equipped kitchen – complete with recycled PVC cabinetry, a portable induction cooktop and sleek Parisi tapware – joins with a living area to create a functional, combined-concept space. A pull-out queen bed is accompanied by a generous amount of wardrobe storage. Using a convenient foldaway staircase, users can access a mezzanine breakaway space that functions as either a second bedroom or a more generalised place of retreat. Available in both a 20 and 40-foot variation, the cabin can sleep anywhere between two and four people.

Aesthetically, the experience of A SCAPE Eco Lodge is one of comfort and enhanced wellbeing. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the home with natural sunlight whilst a wood-burning fireplace effortlessly establishes a cosy atmosphere. The A-frame structure produces a surprisingly spacious interiority, as well as a unique vantage point that can be tailored to the individual site. Alongside acoustic insulation, the thermal quality of the home is tempered by the Colorbond roofing to create a soothing internal climate. In contrast to the pre-set exterior, the interior details can be determined by the client, laying the foundation for a highly personal outcome.

A quality product with considered materiality, A SCAPE Eco Lodge is the ultimate place of escape. Balancing modern convenience with sustainable design intent, Vitale Design crafts a residence that interacts authentically with its natural surrounds.
