Coinciding with DOMO’s quadragennial celebrations – commemorating 40 years amongst the upper echelons of the Australian furniture industry – the company has opened a new flagship showroom located in the heart of Melbourne’s furniture district, on Richmond’s iconic Church Street.

DOMO was established by Francesco Novembre in the early 1980s. Francesco, alongside his wife Jane and daughter Gabrielle, has spent the past four decades developing DOMO into a company with a strong reputation for quality furniture and lighting. Reflecting on 40 years in business, “we feel blessed to be working alongside family in an industry that we love,” he says.

As a company, DOMO has never lost sight of Francesco’s original vision of bringing practical design and quality craftmanship to the Australian market, while evolving over time by offering more contemporary collections that complement the classical pieces for which DOMO has become known. “Well-made and well-designed furniture lasts; the quality, durability and style of our products helps ensure customers remain gratified by their purchases for many years to come,” says current DOMO
Marketing Director Jane Novembre.

40 years of history in the Australian design industry has not only brought an impressive portfolio of high-end furniture brands but has also given DOMO the invaluable physical presence of seven highly curated showrooms across the nation. “We are proud that DOMO showrooms consistently display a regionally curated collection of the latest trends in furniture and lighting that both inspire and enhance homes in Australia,” says Jane.

DOMO’s work with renowned international brands such as Ligne Roset, Wittmann, de Sede, Duvivier, Arte Brotto and Pulpo has been intertwined in the rise of the company over the decades, and this is elegantly reflected in the pieces that adorn the floors of the new Richmond showroom space today. Testament to DOMO’s influence in the Australian design industry, every square metre of the flagship space is filled with instantly recognisable furniture and lighting items, suitable for all styles of interior design and architecture.

Located at 516 Church Street in the innercity suburb of Richmond, the new showroom is conveniently placed in the thick of the beating heart of the Melbourne furniture industry. DOMO’s latest showroom is a two-storey tribute to the history, legacy and overall ethos of the company. Appropriately opened to coincide with DOMO’s 40th birthday, the showroom features a beautifully curated selection of DOMO’s internationally acclaimed furniture brands, thus creating an appropriate showcase of the timeless design that has elevated DOMO over the past four decades.

Iconic pieces, including the Ligne Roset Togo collection and de Sede’s DS-600 sofa, sit alongside more recent items from HC28 Cosmo, KUN Design and Sika Design, imported by DOMO as a response to changing Australian lifestyles and an increased interest in multi-functional design to help match modern urban living. The broad spectrum of design on display to suit all lifestyles and households is part of the appeal of the new flagship space, reaffirming DOMO’s commitment, made 40 years ago, to make quality design more accessible to Australia.
