Founded in 1999, Australian-made, family-owned tapware manufacturer Faucet Strommen has emerged as a brand of choice among designers. The company’s bathroom collection has become a market leader, with the solid brass fixtures acting as an overarching solution for architectural tapware, fittings and accessories.

The collection – which includes mixers, accessories, showers, cabinet handles and pulls, three-piece tapware, outlets, baths, basins, shower hardware and flush plates– is available in 20 colour finishes and a spectrum of different styles. Through such attention to detail, the collection addresses the need for a complete and cohesive design solution across all bathroom touchpoints.

The company’s continued investment in new machinery and manufacturing facilities in Northern Victoria is pointed at introducing more technology to their in-house processes.

Faucet Strommen’s innovations are under-pinned by novel materials and cutting-edge technologies. Products are crafted from brass and lead free UltraBrass that affords greater quality and durability. The company has worked to bring all processes in-house, and nowhas brass CNC machines to ensure that each part is built to stand the test of time. Its products are noted for their seamless finishes and resistance to corrosion, achieved using precision machining by way of diamond tooling, trivalent chrome plating and state of the art finishing processes, including Zirnium DMF(Direct Molecular Fusion). The company’s continued investment in new machinery and manufacturing facilities in Northern Victoria is pointed at introducing more technology to their in-house processes.

As oft-overlooked bathroom accessories, the company’s flush plate and cabinet hardware ranges deserve a special mention. The former is characterised by a full-brass construction and is compatible with a Geberit Sigma8 cistern and a standard 90-millimetre stud wall. The latter comes in a host of contemporary and classic styles that make it a versatile addition to any bathroom. Equally attention-worthy are the brand’s heated towel rails, crafted entirely from brass and available in both vertical and horizontal alignments. As the slimmest on the market, they can be used in conjunction with their identical non-heated counterparts to achieve a stacked or distributed design scheme. Horizontal heated towel rails are also customisable in length, adapting to suit the environment.

Part of Faucet Strommen’s mission is to continue to minimise waste whilst simultaneously increasing quality. The company’s efficiency initiatives include a solar energy system for its factory, closed-circuit filtration for recycling water and a vertically integrated manufacturing model that ensures the movement of materials in trolleys rather than trucks. The company’s commitment to waste minimisation is echoed in its manufacturing processes. Every brass offcut is collected and recycled, and every tapis equipped with pressure-sensitive devices that taper the flow of water. With an equal sensitivity to product and place, Faucet Strommen is rewriting the rule book for bathroom design.
