Phoenix Tapware’s new LuxeXP range combines exceptional good looks with cutting-edge technology to offer a refined, luxury shower experience.
Phoenix has been creating innovative bathroom solutions for three decades, and its new LuxeXP shower range is no exception. Like all of Phoenix’s products, the LuxeXP possesses singular good looks, but here they’re combined with world-beating shower spray technology that delivers an experience quite like no other. “Beneath the elegant, minimalist look there lies complex engineering design and manufacturing processes, the culmination of extensive research and design refinements over the years,” says Hugh Fan, the company’s senior mechanical engineer.
The patented technology that creates the LuxeXP spray pattern is two-fold. First, a pressure swirl atomiser uses the energy from the high-pressure water flow to induce a swirling motion, generating centrifugal forces that push the water towards the outer wall. This action causes the water to exit the nozzle in an almond-shaped sheet, which then breaks down into a multitude of water droplets, creating a soothing cascade. The second component is a Tesla valve, which features a series of interconnected channels in a pattern of alternating semi-circular islands. The arrangement ensures water flows at speed, in one direction, while the formation of vortexes inhibits reverse flow.
As well as delivering a superior shower, the spinning motion of the water self-cleans the nozzles, which translates as a user experience with optimum water pressure, distribution and hygiene – without having to think about clogging or cleaning and maintenance. The shower handpieces also feature a push-button mechanism that toggles between normal, massage and multi-flow settings. The mechanism has a smooth finish, creating a minimalist profile that complements the shower rose. This seamless combination of functionality and beauty was recognised when the range won the prestigious 2023 Red Dot Design Award for innovation in design.
The range comprises two collections, the square-form Ormond and the round Oxley, available in five contemporary finishes: brushed carbon, brushed gold, brushed nickel, chrome and matte black, making it workable in any style of bathroom, from opulent to minimalist. LuxeXP comes as twin showers, rail showers and hand showers, along with a high-rise shower arm and rose.
The manufacturing process involves rigorous testing of all moving parts, including the premium brass sliders, rails and brackets, and the range comes with a lifetime warranty.
