With GlobeWest furniture at its heart, this coastal home blends timeless indoor and innovative outdoor pieces to create a sublimely relaxed retreat.

On Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Mount Martha Coastal Retreat by Planned Living Architects is a showcase of sculptural forms and craftsmanship. It blends clean architectural lines with warm materials to create a tranquil coastal retreat. Timber flooring and natural stone finishes anchor the interiors, while extensive glazing frames the landscape, inviting the outdoors in. The interior design features muted tones, soft textures and a selection of furniture from GlobeWest’s latest collections. The brand’s in-house product and design team play a pivotal role in nurturing GlobeWest’s owned designs, blending artistry with precision.

Sculptural silhouettes and timeless forms with a modern twist enhance the textural diversity and elegance of the residence.

Each furniture piece has been thoughtfully chosen to complement the home’s architectural style and materiality, enhancing its retreat-like atmosphere while balancing form and function. The living space is anchored by the Madrid Curve modular sofa, its rounded form echoing the organic elements of the coastal landscape. Complementing this is the Reese Square coffee table, with its contemporary reinterpretation of parquetry, showcasing intricate craftsmanship and fine detailing. Nearby, the stunning spiral staircase is elevated by the addition of Theron Bloom floor sculptures. With their smooth, sculptural curves, these solid oak pieces enhance the grandeur of the space, offering a tactile interplay of form and materiality.

Together, they highlight the collection’s meticulous attention to detail, blending traditional techniques with modern aesthetics.

The dining area exudes refined simplicity. The Eleanor dining chair, featuring a fully upholstered design, pairs effortlessly with the Classique Oval dining table, a GlobeWest signature piece. Together, they highlight the collection’s meticulous attention to detail, blending traditional techniques with modern aesthetics. The Eleanor chair’s upholstery offers added comfort, and the natural wood finish of the Classique table contrasts beautifully with the sleek lines of the chairs.

Bedrooms and secondary living areas extend the design language. Stand-out pieces include the Rowan occasional chair in Copeland Hazel, which offers cosy sophistication, and the Vittoria Como three-seater sofa, which combines oversized cushioning with a slouched appeal for a relaxed yet elegant aesthetic. The Carlo dining chair brings versatility to the home office, its sleek, upholstered design pairing with the space’s darker tones.
