Across the Asia-Pacific region, Space Furniture represents the world’s leading luxury furniture brands. Guided by a commitment to impeccable design, service and client experience, and supported by longstanding relationships with brands including B&B Italia, Kartell, Edra and Maxalto, the company helps to create interiors as individual as its clients.

A unique offering is Space Atelier by Space Furniture, a dedicated studio grounded in design acumen, manufacturer expertise, systems thinking and structured delivery. It supports architects, designers, private clients and developers within a broad scope, encompassing interior design, furniture procurement and styling through to full FF&E services, custom lighting and furniture manufacturing, wardrobe systems, art procurement and material coordination.

The strength of the service lies in its flexibility. Drawing on more than 30 years of experience in private residences, boutique commercial projects and large-scale luxury developments across the region, Space Atelier tailors each solution to the individual client and project context, ensuring no two projects are approached in the same way.

“Atelier is grounded in a deep understanding of design,” David Hartikainen, Space Furniture’s head of interiors and business development, Asia-Pacific, explains. “The world’s best brands train our team to interpret briefs, respect creative intent and respond in ways that feel fully integrated. We bring critical thinking, professionalism and material expertise so every decision is design-led, not just aesthetic.” For architects and design teams, Space Atelier acts as an extension of their studio, managing procurement, lead times, delivery and installation so creative focus can remain where it belongs. Specialists work alongside project teams to ensure furniture, wardrobe systems, lighting and material selections are applied with clarity and consistency.

For private clients, the service is discreet and bespoke, whether for a single room or an entire residence. Meanwhile, developers turn to Space Atelier for luxury brand alignment as well as a seamless handover experience, supported by in-house warehouse and installation teams.

“We bring critical thinking, professionalism and material expertise so every decision is design-led, not just aesthetic.”

“Globally, demand is growing for integrated solutions, especially as many interiors begin to feel uniform,” Hartikainen says. “We saw an opportunity to guide better decisions and support projects more holistically. Space Atelier helps projects stand out in a fresh, meaningful way.”

The process unfolds in three stages. Briefing and concept design establishes the design direction through tailored drawings and sketches. Design development follows, translating the concept into a fully costed, resolved design solution. Finally, site services sees the team coordinate trades, oversee delivery and manage installation through to final placement and styling. It is a considered end-to-end approach – one that has made Space Atelier an essential partner. “Our level of involvement varies, but ideally, we join a project around 12 months out for a truly collaborative process,” Hartikainen says. “That said, we can be involved right from the beginning, working on early concepts and renders, or we can step in later as part of an ongoing partnership.”

Each project reflects a responsive, collaborative process shaped by context and clear intent. Recent case studies include Whipbird on the Sunshine Coast, where the team worked with developer Zerni and architect Minnow Studio to ensure every furnishing decision supported the architecture and landscape, allowing light, volume and views to lead, while layering in timeless pieces.

At Greenmount Residences on the Gold Coast, a longstanding relationship with developer Abedian & Co evolved into true co‑creation. Space Atelier developed custom elements, curated materials and shaped the residential experience within a broader architectural narrative. In Malaysia, Eden Taman Duta similarly saw Atelier act as interior designer across the luxury project, fully integrated with developer BRDB’s team from beginning to end. At luxury apartments One Sydney Harbour, Atelier responded to Renzo Piano Building Workshop’s vision for Lendlease through materiality, light and refined detailing, creating interiors grounded in how clients live, expressed through bespoke furniture, custom finishes and curated art. Together, these projects reflect the seamless, tailored and highly considered approach of Space Atelier.
